Charlotte, NC, September 22, 2010– The last seminar of the 2010 Harper Flexographic Solutions Tour is set for Wednesday, October 6, at the Crowne Plaza-Somerset/Bridgewater in Somerset, NJ. Organized by Harper GraphicSolutions™, technical service division of global anilox supplier Harper Corporation, the all-day seminar is free.

The tour finale includes nine presentations from Harper flexographic insiders and experts from other respected printing suppliers. Topics are chosen for their appeal to print managers and supervisors, operators, pre-press managers, designers, ink, plate and pre-press suppliers, general managers and purchasing departments.
After a welcoming by Pete Hartman, Harper Vice President of Sales, Kodak’s Doug Weiss will discuss NX digital plate technology. Ken Friedman, of The Provident Group, will follow with a briefing on key elements of doctor blade use. Then FlexoWash’s Mike Potter will discuss plate and anilox cleaning systems.
Ron Zessack of EIC will address ink adhesion and surface tension issues. The morning agenda closes with a perspective on anilox press standardization by Bill Poulson, Northeast Technical Graphics Advisor for Harper, and a detailed look at anilox rolls and high speed presses from Alex James, Harper GraphicSolutions™ Eastern Division Technical Graphics Manager.
Following a complimentary lunch, seminar guests will be briefed by John Bearden of MicroDynamics about his company’s 3DQC inspection microscope for flexo and gravure printers. Jim Wittig of ACTEGA will review the fine points of adhesives and coatings before Bill Poulson leads an entertaining game of Flexo Jeopardy. Attendance is required for door prize eligibility.
